Privacy policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information We-Signal uses, why, and your rights. We-Signal is a service of WE-DEV LTD (company number 15878974), Unit 6, Block 3, Woolwich Church Street, London SE18 5PQ. WE-DEV LTD is the data controller. Contact us at info@we-dev.uk.
What We-Signal does
We-Signal lets business users search the public register of UK companies published by Companies House, combined with the ONS Postcode Directory for locations. When a signed-in user asks, it can also look up the general business contact details a company publishes on its own website.

Company information
Company records come from Companies House's public register and are used under the Open Government Licence. They describe companies (name, number, registered office, status, filing dates, business activity codes). Locations come from the ONS Postcode Directory.
Business contact details we look up
When a signed-in user asks for contact details, our system visits the company's own public website and records: the website address, general business email addresses (such as info@ or sales@), business phone numbers, links to company social media pages, the page we read and the date we checked it. We do not keep addresses that name a person. Our system identifies itself as We-SignalBot, follows each site's robots.txt rules and reads only a few pages.
Some of these details can still relate to an individual, for example a sole trader's business number. We use them on the basis of legitimate interests: helping businesses find and contact other businesses. Records that are not refreshed for 24 months are deleted.
Cookies
We-Signal uses only cookies that are strictly necessary: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and a security token that protects forms. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Who we share information with
Our servers are hosted by IONOS in a London data centre, and our emails are sent from those servers. IONOS processes information only on our instructions. We share information with others only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Account and team information: while the account is open, then deleted within 30 days of closure.
- Security and sign-in records: 12 months.
- Business contact details: until refreshed, removed on request, or 24 months after the last check.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict its use, object to our use of it (including any use based on legitimate interests) and ask for your account data in a portable format. Email info@we-dev.uk; we reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell account holders by email.
